Royal Hyacinth Trio

Royal Hyacinth Trio

100%
of respondents would recommend this to a friend
Refreshing mix of light pink, dark pink and white flowers adds color and fragrance to the early to mid-spring garden. Royal Hyacinth Trio is a random mix that can be used in many ways. It works well when planted in groups in formal beds, scattered in the border between ground covers and perennials, or planted in small clumps in front of evergreens. Growing 8-12" tall, this blend also is charming in window boxes. Deer resistant and easy to grow, hyacinth bulbs perform best when planted in well-drained soil and in full sun to partial shade.

Arrived rotten and squishy

All my other bulbs from this company did well but these bulbs arrived and only 1/4 of them were not rotten and squishy. Only 3 managed to survive and flower. The rest were duds. It really bronk my heart as I wanted these bulbs to flower so badly.

The Hyacinth Trio was lovely but not the pinks that I ordered. They sent a purple trio which was nice and bloomed well but not the pink and white I expected.

Verified Reply - AngelaThe Royal Hyacinth Trio is a mix. The varieties are not individually packaged or labeled. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can these be forced ? If so what is the estimated bloom time from the day of planting .
Asked by Gary
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Royal Hyacinth Trio bulbs can be forced. After the chilling period of 8 to 16 weeks, the plants should bloom 4 to 6 weeks after planting them and providing slightly warmer temperatures. It's not an exact science so stagger plantings if you need blooms for a specific date. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
is it rabbit resistant
Asked by John
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Royal Hyacinth Trio is considered rabbit and critter resistant. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I would like to force bloom these bulbs. Do I need to chill them and if so, for how long?
Asked by Roz
Verified Reply - AngelaYou will need to chill the Royal Hyacinth Trio bulbs for about 12 weeks at a consistent temperature of about 40 F. They need to be kept in the dark, cool and dry. A refrigerator is perfect for chilling the bulbs but remove any fruits that produce ethylene gas. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
can they be planted in containers in Florida weather
Asked by brad
Verified Reply - ViciHyacinths require chilling in order to grow and bloom. Once you receive the bulbs in the fall you will need to put them in a refrigerator that has no fruit for at least a 12 week period. You can then plant them in your containers. When the flowers fade, allow the leaves to die back on their own because they are feeding the bulb for next year's bloom. You would put the bulbs back into the refrigerator in the fall. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I was wondering if the hyacinth trio mix come sorted in different bags.
Asked by Clare
