Beautiful blend delights with its sweet fragrance and eye-popping flower colors. Fragrant Mixed Hyacinths is a random mix of white, pink, purple, yellow, blue and salmon hues. Growing 8-12" tall, it's ideal for planting in window boxes, containers, beds and borders. This mix also makes a wonderful informal accent among perennials or ground covers. Blooming in early to mid spring, hyacinths are treasured for their fragrance and color. Hyacinth bulbs are easy to grow and perform best when planted in well-drained soil and in full sun to partial shade. Deer tend to pass them by.

They were beautiful. Unfortunately, the Tennesse fickle weather is always a problem! Several freezing temps after bloom. They still looked great, but i thi k would have been larger blooms if better temps. First bloom. I love this company! They send large bulbs. Much better product than most mail order. Also have great prices!

IF my weather would cooperate and NOT fool the Hyacinths they would be perfect. I can't blame the Hyacinths for Mother Nature being fickle! Happy overall.

Q
What are the bulb sizes in inches? And is there any other differences other than price & size of the bulbs to take into consideration? Hyacinths are Fragrant too?
Asked by Matthew
Verified Reply - AngelaThe bulbs in offer 87893 are 5.5 to 6.5 inches circumference. Item 88027 has 7.5 to 8.5 inch bulbs. They are both shipped in the fall and all are fragrant. Other than size of bulbs and price difference, they are the same product. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Once the plant is finished blooming do I save the bulb for next fall?
Asked by Mandy
Verified Reply - ViciI see you are in zone 10. If you are growing hyacinths in zone 9 or above, where winter temperatures stay above 60 degrees Fahrenheit, you will need to dig up your bulbs and chill them artificially before replanting. Store them in a mesh bag in a cool, dark spot that remains above freezing but below 45 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 weeks minimum. A refrigerator that does not have any fruit in it can work well. The ethylene gas that is produced by fruit can kill the flower bud in the bulb. You need to let the leaves of the bulb die naturally before you dig them up as they are feeding the bulb for next year's bloom. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
What is the first month to start ordering hyacinth bulbs for fall shipping?
Asked by Richard
Verified Reply - AngelaI don't have a specific date. You can enter your email address on the product page and we will notify you when we can begin accepting orders. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
My hyacinths foliage has berries on them. Can I plant them for more bulbs?
Asked by Marcia
Verified Reply - AngelaWe suggest cutting the seed pods off of the plant. This will redirect energy back to the bulb for more flower power next spring. The seeds formed are likely sterile or at least not true to type. If you want to try it, let the pods dry on the plant. Collect and store the seeds in a cool location until it's time to sprout. It can take 5 years for the plants to flower from seed as the plant will be developing a bulb. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Do I plant these in the fall?

Q
I purchased hyacinths in fall of 2020. Spring of 2021 they all bloomed better than expected. Spring of 2022, not a single bulb revealed itself( not even leaves). Have had hyacinths that repeat year after year for at least 3 decades. I know the way to plant and to allow the plant to dry up on its own. Can you offer any suggestions as to why they did not reveal themselves this year? All my daffodils repeated and made brilliant displays. Thank you.
Asked by Roger J
Verified Reply - ViciIt is difficult to say why your hyacinth bulbs did not return. If the area where the hyacinths were planted was wet during the summer the bulbs could have rotted. They were guaranteed to grow for you. Please contact our customer service department at 800-552-9916 and they will be happy to issue a merchandise credit for your hyacinth bulbs that you can use on a future order or you can contact us in July if you would like them reshipped in the fall. Q
What is the difference between the 14-15cm bulb and the 16-17cm? Beside the obvious answer of bulb size... Do the bigger ones produce bigger flowers? Thank you!
Asked by Kimmy
Verified Reply - AngelaLarger bulbs will produce more flowers. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Do these bloom only once or do they come up every year?
Asked by Stephanie
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Fragrant Mixed Hyacinths are perennials in USDA Hardiness Zones 4 to 9. They should bloom each spring for several years. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Are they the same as lilacs. And do they automatically bloom every year
Asked by Carm
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Fragrant Mixed Hyacinths aren't the same as lilacs but they bloom early and smell lovely like lilacs. They are perennials and will return and bloom each spring for several years. Was this answer helpful to you
