Q&A

Showing 3 out of 3 Questions

Q
Are these bulbs ready to plant once delivered? Or do they need a period of cold stratification?
Asked by Dominic
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Double Hyacinth Spring Beauty bulbs are ready to plant when they arrive this fall. They will get their chill hours while in the ground during winter. If you are forcing them indoors, they will need to be chilled for 8 to 12 weeks prior to planting. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Do hyacinths bloom earlier that dwarf gladiolus. I have glads now and was thinking of planting hyacinths behind the glads.
Asked by IAN
Verified Reply - ViciThe hyacinths would bloom in early to mid spring. The Dwarf glads would bloom in July/August. The foliage for the hyacinths would die back before the glads would bloom. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
If you cut hyanciths and daffodils for in house arrangements, do they bloom again the following year?
Asked by Susan
Verified Reply - ViciYes they will bloom the following year. You do need to allow the foliage to continue to grow and die back on its own as it is feeding the bulb for next year's bloom. Was this answer helpful to you
