Put in pots but haven't done very well. 3 so small they didn't make it. 2 no roots did not survive. Have 2 more that that are looking iffy. The rest are very robust and growing slowly. They are the same a blue looking small hearts about 3 in.

One Year Later and 100% Success

Submitted 2 years ago

By G

From Atlanta

I ordered 2 bags of the mix last spring. I am happy to report that all 20 plants appeared this spring — happy and healthy. As others have said, it would be helpful is the bare roots were labeled so that one could design better. But the mystery has its own charm too, I suppose.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Healthy looking roots and growing within 24 hrs

By Ryan

From Hartford, CT

Purchased two bags of 10 of the mixed hostas. All 20 looked healthy and vibrant. Potted them up and they are already putting out foliage. Great experience so far. Looking forward to seeing them full grown.

Very Nice Variety

Submitted 3 years ago

By Pauli

From Plano, TX

I purchased 2 bundles and there was a nice variety of different multi-colored hostas. No really low end ones in the group. I did have some fails, in a bag of 10 I got 7 and another bag 8, and then send another 10 to offset the lost ones. I ended up getting a really nice group of colorful hostas that would have cost more than 3 times the price and likely would have been more like plantain hostas. These are gorgeous! Thanks! Pleasantly surprised!

Poor Quality

Submitted 3 years ago

By Dann

From Florida

I ordered the hosta mix. They arrived 2 days past the delivery range provided on my order. When I finally received them, 4 of the roots were severely wilted and slimy as if they were rotted. Customer service told me to plant them anyway and that I would have to wait 4-5 weeks before they would consider replacement or credit. This is the first and last time that I will order from this company

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Update from last review.

Submitted 3 years ago

By Terry

From Parsonsburg Maryland

Recently I posted that my hosta mix did not sprout. I purchased two Patriot plugs from another company. While planting the plugs I discover that all 10 of my hosta mix is emerging. Some have even multiplied. When I planted them last year I was sure the smallest ones wouldn't be emerging this year. However I was wrong. I still have no idea which Hostas I got. Would like to recommend to K. Van B that it would be nice if they would label what hostas you are getting, which would make it easier for gardeners to adjust where to plant hostas.

Not a mix

Submitted 3 years ago

By Terry

From Parsonsburg, Md

I purchased the hosta mix hoping that I could start a hosta garden. The live roots came but were small. I planted them and waited. They all came up but but were all one variety. This year none of them have appeared. Very disappointed. I will go to another website and purchase individual hosta for my garden.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

satisfied with what I got

Submitted 3 years ago

By Neyronrose

From southeastern Pennsylvania

Planted in Spring 2021. The roots I got looked healthy, and all that I planted sprouted. I expected them to get bigger than they did, but the leaves remained tiny. I guess they were all the "mini mouse-ear" type? I didn't see variegation. The leaves of them all were a medium-colored green. I suppose it's good that they're all small hostas, because I interplanted them pretty closely with other kinds of shade plants. I'll need to get individual cultivars for different sizes and the sorts of variegations on the leaves that I want. I'm pleased that the plants in this mix grew nicely.

Disappointing

By Carmine

From SW Michigan

I have a great many hostess which I've grown successfully for 17 years. I planted about 9 assorted from this site. 3 never came up, the others are between 3-5" tall after 5 months. I'm not impressed.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
