Amazing results

Followed planting directions from the web. Took a while to start blooming, but once they did, they were non-stop. Multiple arrangements were made.

Third Year's the Charm

Submitted 2 years ago

By Sunira

From Atlanta, GA

So these ranunculus corms produce some really beautiful flowers. This is the first year, however, that I've actually gotten them to bloom. This is not because there's anything wrong with the ranunculus, but because the instructions for planting them, and expecting them to bloom are completely off for my zone. I did the whole soaking them and then keeping them in the dark room and only planting them in the spring, etc. etc. and they would never bloom and they looked pretty sick. I tried only planting in the spring after frost and they'd just bake and die in May without putting a single flower out. So this year, even though I'm in zone 7, I planted them in the fall and left them to overwinter. This year they came up beautifully in March, and it's mid-late April now and they are just blooming beautifully! So if you are in Zone 7 like me, they're fine in the ground and they don't bloom in July, they bloom in April. I will be ordering many more for this fall!

Not as advertised

Submitted 2 years ago

By Chicken Whisperer

From Fort Worth Texas

They are advertised to grow 12 to 18 inches. Nope.. They only grew if at all, to be about; maybe 10 inches. Plus what I did plant ,which was a lot; only a handful came up..

No success

I've tried for two seasons with no luck. I'm not sure whether the plants came up and some critters ate buds before they showed or whether what did come up were weeds.

I bought these and the pastels and not one has come up. The other plants ordered have done very well. Would not recommend these.

+Going to buy again in the Fall

Submitted 5 years ago

By Jannygrace

From Olympic Peninsula WA

Live in Zone 8b (PNW) .Planted them in pots in the Fall. Had never planted ranunculus before but they looked beautiful. I think they all came up and are just plain beautiful. Literature says they bloom in July and August. It is June 1 and they are up and in full bloom. I am deadheading like crazy to maintain them as long as possible. I have shopped KVB a fair amount of times and they have been a good provider of bulbs for my very eclectic garden. Looking for flowers for next Spring to fill in for late May and June. I think these will work well.

Beginner Gardener and had 0 issues! All of them bloomed!

Submitted 5 years ago

By J

From North Carolina

This was my first time buying from this company (and my first time gardening). Honestly, some of these were planted upside down and sideways, and amazingly all of them STILL came up. I will say I was skeptical of the gregarious mix of colors, and thought it would look visually cluttered, but that's not at all the case. My mix did not have as much yellow as in the online images, which is just perfect. I'd say my mix is a little heavier on the reds/whites, but the colors all blend nicely together and it's better having it more visually grounded with a dominant color. My only regret, is that I did not buy double the amount. The tubers were very large and plump and I should note that my soil is not that great, more acidic and drains poorly. I added a spoonful of organic bulb fertilizer before planting them in the fall, and the display has been stunning. I garden organically and these have had zero issues with pests or disease and they've been given nothing but organic Bulb-Tone fertilizer once. Honestly, I don't even water them, these are foolproof flowers. Lastly, I wish that they had the salmon color available, but that's ok. Oh, and I had noticed, they're not popular with pollinators, but that's probably just because they are a non-native species.

Grew even in a Wisconsin garden

Submitted 6 years ago

I was concerned about the short cold growing season being a problem, but these came up and flowered reasonably well. First time I have tried ranunculus and I would call myself only a mediocre gardener.

I was so please to see such a wonderful array of color in something that was included as a bonus and I didnt know what to expect. The blooms were numerous and long lasting. Mine came up for the spring, but I see they can be late summer too, so I am planting more. SJS
