The blooms are made up of light lavender-pink petals surrounding deep purple centers, and act as magnets to beneficial pollinating insects. These powder-puff type dahlias also create fantastic landscape displays that extend the summer season well into fall. Dark stems reach an impressive 40" tall, giving the unique flowers a stately look—great for back borders and cutting gardens.

Is the powder puff a perennial

- Verified Reply - AngelaThe Powder Puff Dahlia Blue Bayou can be grown in USDA Hardiness Zones 3 to 10. Those of us in zones 3 to 8 will need to lift the tubers from the ground in fall and store in a frost free location for winter. They can be planted the following spring after all danger of frost has passed. Was this answer helpful to you
