Dinnerplate Dahlia Café au Lait

Dinnerplate Dahlia Café au Lait

94%
of respondents would recommend this to a friend
Café au Lait Dahlia offers a very unusual coloring of creamy flowers tinged with peachy, light pink—a subtle blend that appears to be different each day. Spectacular 10" flowers are excellent for sunny borders and leading florists in Europe have discovered this variety for bridal bouquets and other high-end floral arrangements. Remove spent flower heads to encourage more blooms and maintain a neat appearance. Dahlias are easy to grow, but not hardy. Take care to lift tubers in zones 3-8 in the fall and store in a dry, frost-free location. Deer tend to avoid.

The Café au Lait Dahlia is shown with the Café au Lait Royal Dahlia and Café au Lait Rosé Dahlia in the third picture.

Now I know why everyone is excited about this one! I happened to receive pinkish cream and yellowish cream color variety of Cafe au Lait. A pleasure to look at and to work with. Mine grew from about 8" at first to a manageable size of 5" in diameter flowers.

Decent tubers but small. Some did not bloom but those that did were true to the variety. Made good tubers for CALs and hope next year to have better output.
