Going Native

Submitted 3 years ago

By Luella

From Pendleton, IN

I'm trying to add more native flowers to the landscaping of the home we moved into in January 2021. I ordered these Goliath purple phlox along with Hercules pink late in the season, May 2021. They arrived in good shape, got planted immediately, and all came up and grew well for 1st year plants, getting maybe a foot tall. None of the purple bloomed, but I think they got well established and should do great this coming season.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Beautiful bare roots

Submitted 4 years ago

By Kate D

From NY

This is the 2nd time I've ordered bare roots from KVB, and again, they are in beautiful condition and thriving. The only reason I gave four stars is because it says 5 bare roots per order, and they sent me four. This happened during my last order too and I'm not sure why.....but great quality for sure!! Looking forward to seeing the flowers

Great root stock

From Undisclosed

The root stock appears to be strong and I expect quick development since the plants had already begun to produce new growth during shipments. Shipment was perfectly timed for my climate zone.

Does this plant have a sturdy stem? Or will it need to be staked? Thanks.
Asked by Dee
Verified Reply - ViciThe stems are quite strong and rarely need staking unless the plant is in an area of high winds or where animals can knock the plant over. If you decide to stake, do so early in the year, when the plant is still low to the ground, rather than when flowers begin to form. Was this answer helpful to you
