Didn't grow

Submitted 3 years ago

By cyclistgal

From Central Ohio

My order of 3 different echinacea arrived very early in the season, when we still get heavy rain and hard freeze, so I potted them up to ensure adequate drainage and put in garage the nights of freeze. None of the echinacea grew. I was given credit for 2 that were out of stock and sent a replacement of the Sunseeker Salmon. They weren't showing any signs of life, but still I planted them in the same bed with several other echinacea which are thriving. The replacements also didn't grow. I know that they won't credit or replace a second time. My experience with ordering bareroots from this company has been abysmal - only bulbs have been successful - I hoped by ordering early I would get viable plants this time, but instead it was 98% failure (one eremurus grew out of the package).

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Q
I planted Echinacea sunseekers and Dwarf Reblooming Phlox Bambini about 10 days ago. Still have not seen any sprouting activity...Approximately how long does it take before growing activity will be seen.
Asked by debbe
Verified Reply - AngelaIt may take 6 to 8 weeks for your plants to begin to put up new top growth. They are working on establishing a root system to support them for many years. Our soil temperatures have also been cooler than average which will slow down top growth a bit. Please allow some more time for the plants to perform. I suspect you will see new growth very soon. Let us know if you do not and we will be happy to provide a positive resolution. Was this answer helpful to you
