So happy with this amaryllis! I received 3 bulbs. The largest took the longest to mature, but had the largest blooms and a little more color than the other two. All were beautiful! I was a bit disappointed that one bloomed just as we were leaving for several days away at Christmas, but happily surprised when we came home after 5 days and the blooms had not faded and there were 2 new ones opening. Love this amaryllis!!! I can't see myself buying anything other than a double amaryllis again!

Merchant Response

Q
What kind of soil is best to use when reporting dormant bulbs? Also, do u fertilize at that time too?
Asked by Amaryllis Lover!

Q
Can I plant the bulbs in October in my outside garden.
Asked by Mike
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Double Amaryllis Amadeus Candy is only winter hardy in USDA Hardiness Zone 10. You will need to bring the bulb inside in winter in your area. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Am I supposed to dig up the bulbs (planted outdoors) in the fall and store them indoors until the next spring.?
Asked by Grandma Nancy
Verified Reply - AngelaYes. The Amaryllis Bulb can't survive Michigan winters. In late summer, discontinue watering and fertilizing to allow the foliage to wither. In the fall, cut off the dried leaves and move the amaryllis back indoors. (Repot if needed.) Store in a cool, dark area for 6-8 weeks. After resting period, move to a warm, well-lit area and resume watering once growth begins. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi, what is the size of the bulb? Thanks so much
Asked by Cheri
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Double Amaryllis Amadeus Candy bulbs are 26-28 CM.Was this answer helpful to you
