Belle Toulousaine Itoh Peony

Belle Toulousaine Itoh Peony

Named for the breeder's hometown of Toulouse in France, this incredible Itoh peony delivers lush, petal-packed blooms with a fully double form and a nearly neon, violet-pink color. The flowers reach an impressive 8" in size and stand out nicely against the bushy plant's rich green foliage. Excellent for borders or cutting gardens, Belle Toulousaine attracts butterflies by the dozens with its sweet fragrance and bold hue. Like other Itoh types, it produces an abundance of peonies on tall, strong stems suitable for enjoying in a vase or in the garden. Blooms in mid spring to early summer and perennializes quite well. I am very disappointed to pay this much for this plant and it's half the size of my palm. And I waited so long and was exited for this plant.

Q
I live in coastal bend with zone 9b. Will this plant do well or barely survive?
Asked by Sheng
Verified Reply - AngelaBelle Toulousaine Itoh Peony is being suggested for zone 9. I would suggest at least 5 hours of morning sun and afternoon shade. Don't bury the root very deep when planting. Use mulch to keep the root zone as cool as possible. The plant should do well and flower unless you have an unusually warm winter. Was this answer helpful to you
