The problem is, this is one bulb that is hard to plant do to not being able to tell up from down. I have 10 flowers blooming out of 75 so far and the others might have been planted upside down. Any advise on these?

Questions & Answers

Q&A

Showing 3 out of 3 Questions

Q
Do these anemone bulbs need to be soaked overnight as some do? How do you tell right side up?
Asked by Betty
Verified Reply - AngelaWe suggest soaking Anemone Hollandia bulbs for 2-4 hours or overnight right before planting. Don't worry at all about which side is up. Just put them in the ground and the plants will figure out which way is up. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Which month do these bloom, and for how long? How do they compare to red poppies? Do these reseed/perennialize?
Asked by CSree
Verified Reply - ViciThis plant blooms in late spring to early summer. They do not compare to red poppies. The bulbs could multiply but you may need to mulch them in the winter in zone 5.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I ORDERED THESE LAST FALL AND THEY ARE COMING UP FINE ON 1/2 OF THEM . I HAD A HARD TIME TELLING WHAT END OF THIS BULB IS DOWN AND WHAT END IS UP WHEN PLANTING. I WANT MORE OF THESE FOR SURE AND PLAN ON THE ORDER COME FALL BUT NEED TO KNOW WHAT END IS UP? THESE ARE REALLY BEAUTIFUL.
Asked by Jan
Verified Reply - AngelaThere is no need to worry. Nobody knows which way is up on an Anemone bulb. The plants will find the way up. We are happy to hear you are enjoying these beauties. Was this answer helpful to you
