Astilbe Mixed

Add wonderful color, texture and movement to shaded areas with Astilbe Mixed. A random mix of colors that may include bright red, dark pink, light pink, lavender and white, Astilbe Mixed is an excellent choice for perennial borders, bed plantings and containers. Blooming in early to midsummer, its feathery plumes are showy in the garden and a vase. Lacy, deep green or bronze-green foliage adds texture to the garden throughout the season. It grows best when planted in rich, moist soil and in shade to partial shade. For maximum impact, plant in groups of 5 or more. Deer tend to avoid astilbe plants.

Excellent product

As an owner of a retail nursery here in Oregon, I would definitely recommend K.Van. K.Van is my "go-to" supplier for viable and healthy plants with a high rate of germination and yield rate. I've ordered from them for the past 5 years and will continue to do so.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I paid for astillbe back in July. They finally arrived in November. I'm in PA and concerned that they will not survive. Everthing says plant in spring

Started ok, then nothing

Planted in a huge container with one hosta. Area gets 1-2 hours of morning sun only. Hosta is very happy, but the astilbe simply died out fairly quickly.

Did not thrive

Submitted 2 years ago

By Carol

From Upper Bucks County, PA

The astilbe mix planted at end of May in a shady garden with morning sun did not thrive. Out of the buy one get one clearance on these bare root plants, I have three growing but no signs of the other plants. They were watered well and I have other astilbe in other parts of the garden that bloomed fine even in the drought of a summer we had. Disappointed. Looking for solutions to these dead plants.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Not hopeful

By KateG

From Fort Wayne, IN

I ordered 2 clearance 10 packs, took the package straight from the delivery guy and started planting within 20 min. Most of the roots had begun to grow but were/were turning to brown mush. I'll be shocked if they grow, pretty shocked they even sent these out. If any do grow I will amend my review.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

reliable growth

By Peanut Butter Princess

From southwestern VA

Planted these in Fall 2020. They grew lots and lots of foliage this past growing season. I look forward to blooms this year. Bare-roots plants require more patience but they are so worth it in the long run for the cost.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

All sprouted

By Neyronrose

From southeastern Pennsylvania

Planted in Spring 2021. The astilbe I got all sprouted. They didn't bloom this year, but maybe next year. I'll see what they do in Spring or summer of 2022.

Only one of these astilbes is growing, and it's tiny. Pathetic! I'll never buy from this supplier again.
