Charming color and feathery flower spikes make Astilbe Rheinland a showy addition to shade gardens. Blooming in early to midsummer, the mass of feathery plumes sway in the summer breeze—and they're great as cutflowers too. Lacy, deep green or bronze-green foliage adds texture to thegarden throughout the season. Astilbe Rheinland is a great addition toperennial borders, bed plantings or containers. It grows best when planted in rich, moist soil and in shade to partial shade. For maximum impact, plant in groups of 5 or more. Deer tend to avoid.

Were not viable
Shipped in a plastic bag packed with wet wood chippings and the plant roots had a white fungus on arrival. None grew. Other plants that were shipped at the same time were still alive.

- Verified Reply - AngelaYou can plant Astilbe in the spring or fall. I prefer the spring so you don't have to wait as long to see it grow. The plant may or may not bloom the first year planted.
