Prolific bloomer. Great cut flower!

Submitted 8 months ago

By Virginia

From North Carolina

I've had them for three years and they have been prolific bloomers with sturdy stems. They make gorgeous, long-lasting cut flowers. I live in zone 8a and do not usually dig them up in winter and they come back each spring. I highly recommend Otto's Thrill.

I bought these in 2021. Tubers were started early indoors and then planted in full sun in far corner of my yard. They started blooming mid-July with blooms as big as a baby's face. Blooms were impressive even from my 2nd floor bedroom window. Flowers look exactly as the picture. Stems are short for a single cut flower but you can cut a 12-18 inch branch with multiple blooms and buds. Stems are very strong. I ordered again in 2022. This year tubers couldn't be shipped early, were more dessicated and broken. But three clumps sprouted. I planted these in my front yard this year. Plants were 4.5 feet, strong stems required minimal staking, reliable blooms. Iowa, Zone 5b
