Welcome spring with 4", deep golden trumpet daffodils. Growing 14" tall, Trumpet Daffodil Improved King Alfred adds plenty of cheer to gardens, borders, containers, naturalized areas and cut-flower displays. Perhaps the best-known group of narcissus, large trumpet daffodils have been favorites since Victorian times. They feature large flowers with trumpets as long as or longer than the flower petals. Multiplying freely, these terrific naturalizers have a long blooming season. Easy to grow and deer resistant, daffodil bulbs perform best when planted in well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade.

King Alfred Daffodils

We planted the Daffodils last December (2023) in poor shallow soil on a hillside we are trying to naturalize. They did great and the local wildlife weren't interested in them at all, which is nice. This was a small trial to see how they performed. We'll be ordering a lot more to be planted this coming Fall. We recently pre germinated some Red Clover seed and are trying a test plot on the same hillside for late spring and summer. Thank you!

They came up huge and beautiful! Each one had 2, 3, or 4 blooms and I was afraid I couldn't get the deep enough since I have very rocky soil. I may have to order more.

These daffodils are cheerful and pretty. Truly a traditional looking bloom. I bought a very large bag and there were a handful of other types of daffodils mixed in. I'm okay with that because they were all pretty and robust in blooming

Big, healthy and strong! Plays well with others. Big sturdy stems and leaves from solid bulb foundation. Planted in mix with other types and stand up to wind, rain, dogs and passing traffic. Easily passed winter snowplow, salt and wandering delivery trucks. Good job K. van B! Definitely a proven winner!

Daffodils in the Lawn - Like living in England again!

Bulbs were timely delivered in the fall and we got them planted. My fault in not reading all the instructions completely in terms of suggestion to give them a "winter" in the fridge. But it worked out great - the daffodils all seemed to come up in the spring and the blossoms were great. We planted them in sections in our grass and it made for a fun look for many weeks while they were in bloom.

These were actually a little lighter color and much shorter trumpets than I have had in the past. The shorter trumpets are not an issue for me because they don`t fall over as bad from weather.
