When I saw this daffodils I had my doubts on colors and performance. When it started to bloom I was pleasantly surprised at how similar the flowers were as pictured. Very beautiful, and nice structured plant. Great companion amongst similar looking foliage like allium millennium. Go ahead, give it a go!

The Double Daffodil My Story was a wonderful addition to my garden. They are on fairly short very stocky stems so they did not fall over nor did they need to be staked. Most other very full, double daffodils need to be staked so that they do not fall over. I highly recommend this variety.

Yo-yo recent weather likely a big negative

I'm an old farmer and I know how to grow acres of grain crops, forages, vegetables, fruit and flowers. Last September, these bulbs plus the Apricot Parrot Tulip bulbs arrived and were fine quality. They were planted in two different beautiful soil flower beds. And heavily mulched all winter with maple tree leaves. All bulbs emerged this spring, with relatively uniform development. The weather a week ago was sunny and low 80's. 2 days later, wind chill is 21 with low 40's mph wind, with wind chill temperatures for 38 consecutive hours. Not good for any type of flower and fruit tree blossom development. As a result, there are no multiple color blossoms as shown in your advertising photo for the My Story Daffodil. The front renovated perennial flowerbed finds the My Story's to be basically a light translucent tepid color. The luxurious new perennial flowerbed finds the same of that, up to the coloration that My Story should be, but only with 1 flower head. No multiples. I'm thinking the yo-yo weather has been a huge determining factor of the lack of proper flower head development and thus coloration. I will see what they look like in 2024. As a side note, the Apricot Parrot Tulips started to bloom today and they appear to be as colorful and unique as I saw last year at the Holland, MI Tulip Festival and displayed in your catalog. They should make a great compliment to my very attractive and colorful Banja Luka and Blushing Apeldorn Tulips, with today being their 2nd day of full bloom.

Q
Will this grow in AZ, I live in zone 9 B
Asked by Marilou
Verified Reply - ViciIn your zone you will need to chill the bulbs. To pre-cool bulbs, put them in the fruit/vegetable drawer of the refrigerator for 8 to 14 weeks. Don't store them with ripening fruit, though, which can give off ethylene gas, which damages the bulbs. Then plant the bulbs immediately in the garden or containers. This will have to be done every year. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
in many of your bulbs you describe their bulb diameter as 14cm-16cm. That can't possibly be right. Are you sure the bulb diameter is not 14mm-16mm?
Asked by Cactus Pete
Verified Reply - AngelaThe industry standard is to measure the circumference of the bulb at it's widest section. The bulbs are 14 to 16cm.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
