There was some greenery about five inches but no blooms. I had put them in planters with Miracle Grow potting soil. I also do water and fertilize. Not sure what went wrong.

Q
We are in southern Utah...can they handle a dry, warm to hot climate?...
Asked by Tim
Verified Reply - ViciThese bulbs are hardy in zones 8 - 10. You are in zone 7 so you would need to lift the bulbs in the fall and store for the winter. They do not like the really hot weather. I would recommend planting them where they would be protected from that hot afternoon sun. Mulching will help to keep the soil moist. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Our soil is very sandy, what compost should we add to amend it and what balance of fertilizer? Thank you !
Asked by Ali
Verified Reply - ViciA sunny site with rich, well drained soil is ideal for growing ranunculus. Ranunculus prefers humus-rich well drained soil. Amend the soil with a 2-to-3-inch layer of compost, peat moss or well-rotted manure and work it into the existing soil. This improves aeration, promotes good drainage and provides your ranunculus plants with slow-release nutrients. Add a tablespoon of bone meal per corm to the soil at planting time and work it into the soil to give them a boost. An application of water-soluble fertilizer in the spring (for ranunculus planted in the fall) will help them get off to a good start in the spring. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
