of respondents would recommend this to a friend
Summer Drummer® Allium has huge 6", purple-and-white flowers on stems growing up to 70" tall. Blooming in July - August, this allium will attract pollinators to your garden but not deer. They are carefree and rewarding as they will tolerate poor garden soil, and once established, they will naturalize easily. Alliums are deer resistant and make excellent cut flowers.

I planted over a hundred. Was a bit scared they wouldn't come up because of the reviews on here. I'm in zone 8a North Carolina and planted them late October. They have now started to bloom. I love how tall they are and see them through my windows.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

one of the finest alliums i have ever grown! i planted in sept and by nov there were mounds of healthy strap-like leaves followed by stems in feb and then a long stage of gradual bloom that didn't stop until july. very tall and sturdy and gorgeous in every stage of growth. they need full sun to do well.

I bought a few of these last year and they have come up beautifully this year! Seems they stay in bloom for a very long time. No staking needed yet as of mid July. I love them!

Disappointing

By Brad

From Rhode Island

They are on their second year now and still have not bloomed. The foliage looks identical to the other customers images and is just starting to die back now (late-may). The foliage does look different from other varieties of allium but certainly smells like an allium. Most likely going to dig them up because they are just wasted space in the garden right now.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
