Every year I have Erlicheer flowers blooming in my house at Xmas. Not this year! They didn't bloom. It was all foliage. Not one flower! These were grown per the instructions.

not chilled long enough for forcing

Submitted 3 years ago

By PJ

From NYC metro

I started most of the erlicheer immediately when they arrived. they looked good, fat firm bulbs. they did nothing. 16 weeks later, they are still doing nothing.. only 3-6" of foliage... not a single bud. HOWEVER 4 wouldn't fit in the pots I had planned. so I put those bulbs into a smaller pot and put it into cold storage in my unheated NY attic with my other dormant bulbs and roots. i potted them up with the last of my amaryllis on Feb1 and all 4 have buds 4 weeks later. they just weren't chilled long enough to force. very disappointed, because if they had chilled them properly I believe they all would have bloomed.

I purchased these for myself and friends. I received them in November and planted them immediately. It's been almost 4 months and to date, not a single bloom on any of them although they are all between 1-2 feet tall. I checked in with my friends. No luck with theirs either. Extremely disappointed especially given my previous purchases have all been well worth the money.

Merchant Response

Thank you for your review. We were sorry to hear of your disappointment because the Paperwhite Nacissus Erlicheer failed to bloom. .Paperwhites get leggy for two reasons. Either they were grown in a room that's too warm (above 65°F) or they didn't get enough light. For stocky plants, grow the bulbs in a cool room (50-60°F) and make sure they get lots of bright, indirect light. We are delighted to let you know that we guarantee our merchandise One of our customer care specialist will be reaching out to you with a positive solution.

Unfortunately these were non- bloomers.I waited and watered to no avail. Thankfully my money was refunded and I also got a nice coupon which I promptly put to use on some flowers to plant in the Spring.

The paperwhites were in beautiful full bloom when the freeze came to Texas last week. The heads were so heavy they had to be staked on some plants. We cut them back today total mush, however the bulbs are still good for next season. So sorry I didn't get a photo of them.
