Beautiful blooms lasting 4 weeks.

I started the bulbs in early December in a container with pepples & water. They are VERY slow growing. Some are just beginning to grow with the buds showing. All have been on a windowsill inside my house. I purchased 25 bulbs, so they are in sveral containers. My group of five began to bloom the first week of February and are still in full bloom today. So very worth the wait.

Sadly these paper whites did not grow more than 4 inches . My money was refunded without question along with a 20% off coupon . while I would rather have seen these beauties bloom, I was gratified by such good customer service.

Tried to grow indoors like the white paper whites and totally unsuccessful. Have been growing the white ones for years but these were useless.

Beautiful scent and flower form. Mine tended to stretch out and get quite tall, but I grew them on a north-facing porch. Many blooms.

Best variety for the south

Submitted 7 years ago

By Brad

From Myrtle Beach, SC

The bulbs are true to name and are so large they send two or three sets of flower stems per bulb. I grow these outside in zone 8 because they're hardy here in the south. They bloom in Febuary naturally but they can easily be forced to bloom indoors.

Q
Is it safe to plant this outdoors in Zone 10 (Southern California) as a perennial? Does it need the leaves to be cut back in Fall as they fade out? Thanks.
Asked by Indsan
Verified Reply - KimberlyPaperwhite Narcissus Grand Soleil d'Or is not recommended for zone 10. Southern California may grow them as annuals. if you chill the bulbs for 10-14 weeks and then plant in February. Was this answer helpful to you
