Fast growing ground cover

Submitted 4 years ago

By Jc

From Vancouver

This has been establishing well in my sunny, dry area. The blooms were bright and a fun pop of color through April and May, and I am looking forward to seeing them fill out the space in the coming years. Out of 32 are root plants that I put in the ground, only one didn't make it. They did come with a broad variation of different sizes, however. In the attached photo you can see how two plants, in the same bed for a couple of months, are still very different in size. I expect this to be less of an issue as they spread.

Q
how long will it take to spreed to 12-18" from the bare root plant that you ship
Asked by linda
Verified Reply - ViciIt could take 3 to 4 years to reach its mature spread as it needs to establish a new root system. The first year it sleeps, the second year it creeps and the third year it leaps! Was this answer helpful to you

Q
How should I store the phlox after receiving in the mail but unable to plant for a couple weeks due to weather? Should I also add some water to them in the bag?
Asked by Jess
Verified Reply - AngelaYou can hold your phlox in a cool and dark location. We suggest planting them as soon as possible for best results. If your soil is workable, you can plant regardless of the temperature. The plants are dormant and won't mind the colder weather. They will wake up naturally as the soil temperatures warm. Was this answer helpful to you
