Ordered 20. Pitiful when arrived. Small bareroot. None came up. So disappointed for the yard this year. And what a waste.

I spent a HUGE amount at this company last year and almost nothing grew, in huge contrast to all the other plants I ordered form other companies which did really well. It was quite striking how only Dutch Bulb products did not do well.

Merchant Response

I am hopeful

These arrived a little earlier than I could have planted them outside so I potted then. A few weeks later 7 out of 10 have sprouted green leaves above the soil surface. They looK very healthy and I am dissapointed that despite my care they all are not growing. I will update when they grow and flower as to the quality of the product.

From Vancouver, WA

I just received these bare root plants and am sure they will flourish. The roots are healthy and vigorous, so I am confident they will grow and be a lovely addition to my garden. This was my first order with K.van Bourgondein and I will definitely order again. Will update my review once Phlox have grown and bloomed.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Is Creme de la creme resistant to.powdery mildew? I quit growing phlox because of powdery mildew. Made me sad because I love phlox
Asked by Flowerlady Nancy
Verified Reply - AngelaI don't believe Creme de la Creme has any special resistance to powdery mildew. Phlox David, Goliath and Orange Perfection are known to be resistant to powdery mildew. Plant in full sun with good airflow and you should be able to grow Phlox again. https://www.dutchbulbs.com/product/hardy-tall-phlox-goliath https://www.dutchbulbs.com/product/David_Hardy_Garden_Phlox https://www.dutchbulbs.com/product/Phlox_Orange_PerfectionWas this answer helpful to you
Q
I am comparing the Creme de la creme to the David Phlox. I am in zone 5 for planting. I see that Creme is a spring planting & david is a fall. Why is there a difference? What else should I know about this Phlox? thanks
Asked by nancy the newbe
Verified Reply - AngelaWe don't have the Creme de la Creme available for fall planting. We typically have both Creme de la Creme and David available in the spring. It's really just a personal preference. David is stark white and Creme is more creamy. David is known to be highly resistant to powdery mildew if that's a problem in your area. Was this answer helpful to you

It should be planted with the crown of the plant (where the roots meet the stems) about one inch below the soil. If there is any growth on your root, this would face up.Was this answer helpful to you

How long after planting in the spring should these start to show growth? Mine have been planted for 3 weeks and NOTHING...
Asked by Carrie
Verified Reply - ViciIt could take up to 6 weeks for a dormant plant to start to grow. You might dig one of the roots up to see if it is doing anything. These roots should be planted with the crown of the plant no more than one inch below the soil. These plants are guaranteed to grow for you. If they don't, be sure to contact our customer service at 800-552-9916 and we will be happy to assist you.Was this answer helpful to you
