- Verified Reply - AngelaFragrant Daffodil 'Quail' should bloom every year for you. Allow the foliage to die back naturally and don't water the daffodil bed during their summer dormancy. In your area, you are likely to see blooms in late winter. If I put these in my outside fixed permanent planter do the bulbs have to be dug up & brought in in the fall?

- Verified Reply - AngelaIf the planter is well insulated and large, your daffodils may be able to overwinter. I have some that do fine in zone 6 in a half whiskey barrel size. If it's a small planter in Wisconsin winters, they will need additional protection. Was this answer helpful to you
