I ordered just one package to see how well they do for me with my soil which has a lot of clay, and they were gorgeous! Good sized bulbs, every one of them came up and had huge flowers. I planted them in front of a row of daylilies and have already ordered more to put in front of other daylilies I have. They looked beautiful there and blended in for a very natural look.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Actually, I was disappointed. The bulbs emerged but did not grow up or bloom. They were in good well drained soil, tended to regularly. I was so looking forward to these beautiful flowers.

Q
Do these naturalize?
Asked by Mari
Verified Reply - ViciGrowing up to 28 - 36 inches tall (70 - 90 cm), Allium Globemaster naturalizes easily and will come back year after year! Easily grown in rich, sandy to gritty, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
My allium's show leaves in spring and die back before they flower. The bulbs seem to get smaller each year. What causes this?
Asked by Gene
Product Owner - jacalligaroI ordered some too, they came up in spring but got only 3-4 inches tall and started to die down. Bulbs then rotted in the ground. They were planted in well drained soil. Maybe they're not good for my zone 9.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Globemaster allium…how many bulbs in a bag?
Asked by Kathleen

Q
My alien bulbs only lasted about 3 years and then they seem to have disappeared all together. Is that typical of these giant bulbs? Thank you!
Asked by Pam
Verified Reply - AngelaThere are a few reasons your Allium may have disappeared. If you had a wet fall/winter, the bulbs can rot as they prefer dryer conditions during the dormant season. Also, if you don't cut the stalks and allow them to produce seed, they can wear themselves out. I'm a little nervous myself because I was very late to cut down my stalks this year. Q
Are your flower bulbs hybridized? Specifically tommy crocus, grape hyacinths, allium globemaster and snow drops
Asked by Allison
Verified Reply - AngelaAllium Globemaster is a hybrid. Crocus tommasinianus is not a hybrid. I don't believe the grape hyacinths are a hybrid. Item 05146 Snowdrops are not hybrids. The other Snowdrops are hybrids. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can Globemaster tolerate wet soil in the winter and spring?
Asked by LOLAGRANOLA
Verified Reply - AngelaAllium Globemaster doesn't do well in very cold and wet soil. You might consider amending your soil to improve drainage or planting in a raised bed. You can also plant the bulbs under the eaves of your house which stays relatively dry. Was this answer helpful to you
