Pompon Dahlia Rocco

Pompon Dahlia Rocco

For truly unique garden spaces and vivacious cut-flower arrangements, make sure to include a generous planting of Rocco dahlias. Decorative-type blooms are petite and spherical—hence the whimsical name, Pompon—and attract plenty of attention with their brilliant beetroot-purple hue. Robust 40" plants with rich green foliage produce the 1½" round blooms that appear as bright polka dots in the landscape. Gardeners will enjoy months of fantastic blooms in their feature beds or cutting gardens.

I think I was the issue with this dahlia. Next year I will move them to a sunnier place, but the few that I were able to get to bloom were so cute.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Q
Hi, I live in zone 10-11 Florida. I love the Dalihia and gladlious are the good for my zone. How much sun don't they need and how often to water them.
Asked by Koliegirle
Verified Reply - AngelaDahlias and Gladiolus are suited for your area. They will do best with 5 to 6 hours of morning sun and afternoon shade. Water both well at planting and then only a few times a week if there is no rain. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I live in 9b and have a south facing slope. It gets 10+ hours of sun. When you say full sun would that work or do I need to provide dahlias with afternoon shade?
Asked by Mb
Verified Reply - AngelaI think 10 hours of direct south facing sun in zone 9b will be too much for the dahlias to perform well. At least 6 hours of early sun and afternoon shade should produce healthier plants and more blooms. Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Will this plant survive in my high desert climate at 8b, 3400 ft. In summer heat?
Asked by Pen
Verified Reply - AngelaPompon Dahlia Rocco should do well in your area. You may want to plant in a site with at least 6 hours of morning sun and afternoon shade if possible. If not, I would still plant them as they grow well in the hottest parts of the country. Was this answer helpful to you
