Hardy Gladiolus Atom

Hardy Gladiolus Atom

of respondents would recommend this to a friend
Fiery red with an unexpected silvery edge, Atom Hardy Gladiolus effectively attracts attention wherever it is planted. Its robust stems bear profuse rows of uncommonly ruffled blooms that are substantial in size—2-3" wide, to be exact. Plant this eye-catching variety alongside lower-growing perennials or bulbs as a colorful backdrop with height and texture. Atom withstands freezing temps like a champ and is hardy down to zone 5. Makes a dramatic cut flower—ideal for both elegant indoor arrangements and colorful bouquets. Highly attractive to pollinators and butterflies.

I planted these this summer and everyone of them came up. They are gorgeous and look like the picture, sometimes with not as many flowers. I'm hoping that they overwinter well and look forward to picking them for bouquets again!

Nice mid-summer blooms

Pretty color combination. WE had a very hot summer in Charlotte this year, so they only lasted about 10 days. I am sure they would have bloomed longer in cooler temperatures. The Hummingbirds liked them too.

Stem

Really loved them, a bit of a flimsy stem. They all needed to be staked. I'm hoping the bulbs grow a bigger and stronger stalk next season.

Twisted stems, lovely flowers

The colors of this gladiolus are beautiful, but the stems were all twisted! Maybe I didn't plant them deep enough, or maybe we had uneven weather, but the stems had 90 degree bends in them. Tough to arrange in a vase, but they are beautiful.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
