Also known as anchusa, this long-blooming perennial adds so much color and beauty to the garden or landscape. The intense blue color of the blooms is a rare find indeed. But Loddon Royalist displays clusters of 1" florets in this radiant hue over an extended period from late spring to midsummer. An unexpected red color sometimes tips the petals, varying from year to year and location to location. Unique black stems reach an impressive height, giving the blooms a little more face time with garden visitors. A top choice for cutting beds, borders and pollinator gardens. Drought tolerant and easy to grow.

Total Failure
Planted my entire order of what I believe were 5 bare root plants as soon as they arrived & in the perfect spot. Waited to see them sprout or show any sign of life....Summer, Fall, and now Winter. Absolutely nothing appeared. Sorry, but these were a huge disappointment 😞

- Verified Reply - AngelaBlue Bugloss can be grown in pots. You might consider moving the pots to an unheated garage or basement for winter. They are cold hardy for your area if planted in the ground but potted plants don't have the same root insulation.Was this answer helpful to you
