Hosta White Feather

White Feather Hosta

Hosta White Feather

A great plant for lightening up shaded areas, White Feather Hosta emerges white, aging to white with green stripes and lavender flowers. Growing 12-14" tall, it's a great container plant. This hosta does not tolerate direct sunlight and must be planted in the shade. Hosta lilies, sometimes called "Plantain" or "Heart Lilies," are some of the best foundation or specimen plants you can find for shady areas. They're unequaled for their foliage and fragrant, bell-shaped flowers. White Feather Hostas take about one year to establish themselves, but do not have to be dug or divided.

Struggling But Alive

Submitted 2 years ago

By Eyes Bigger Than Trowel

From New England

I was very excited to get these and knew that they might be a bit less flexible and robust in our environment than our other hostas. They are struggling. Recommend planting them in a relatively shady location. Mine are alive and struggling (valiantly) to survive in a part-shade location that became sunnier after a tree came down.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

These hosta bareroots are so healthy and grew speedily. The attached photo is taken just two weeks after potting. These were part of my first order with this company and I am very pleased.

I'm really having a hard time with this start. Itll get about 2 inches then wilt die off and start all over again. I have it in a well drained pot and hoping maybe finding the right spot will do the trick.

Makes a bold statement in the shade

This truly starts out white and makes a bold statement from the back shady part of our garden. It only just started greening out about a week ago so stayed white for about 3 months. Growth has been fine in a very low fertility area of partial clay. Very satisfied with it.

Lighter at first, then more of a green later. I like having different hostas and find that year 2 is usually better once established, so giving a 4 star since growing well and looks nice and opos at first.
