Wish I'd taken a photo, but these were GORGEOUS. The blooms were large, lasted a long time, stunning red color, and I had multiple blooms open on each bulb. I'm definitely ordering these again!

Questions & Answers

Q&A

Showing 3 out of 3 Questions

Q
Can you plant amaryllis in late February for early spring blooming?
Asked by Margaret
Verified Reply - ViciYou can. Store your bulb in a cool, dry, dark place like an unheated but attached garage, your basement, or the crisper of a refrigerator where the temperature ranges between 50 and 55 Fahrenheit for eight to 12 weeks. Do not store amaryllis bulbs in a fridge that has apples inside because this will sterilize the bulbs. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is Red Lion ready for forcing indoors for this years Christmas bloom.
Asked by Mary Lou
Verified Reply - ViciThe Red Lion is ready for forcing indoors for this year's Christmas bloom. Simply plant it with one third of the bulb above the soil and water it and it will grow. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Will it grow in the desert of Arizona? Perhaps in a planter instead of the ground. What is the best time to plant it?
Asked by Esther
Verified Reply - AngelaWe ship Diamond Amaryllis in the fall for planting. It should do well in your zone 9 garden. You would still likely need to lift it from the ground and store the bulb for winter. If it's in a pot, you can just roll it into a garage or shed. Was this answer helpful to you
