Darwin Hybrid Tulip Salmon Impression

Darwin Hybrid Tulip Salmon Impression

Give your valued customers or clients the tulip of their dreams with Salmon Impression. This luxuriant Darwin Hybrid boasts soft, rosy salmon petals edged in a pale pink color—a highly attractive color palette. Planted in drifts across bright areas of the landscape, the flowers seem to shimmer en masse as the sun hits the light pink edges. For a more dynamic, colorful display, plant the 22" tall Salmon Impression tulips in front of taller mid-spring varieties, with low-growing early perennials at their base. We like to see the salmon-rose blooms alongside pink and white options for a sweet, color-coordinated look.

Not a single salmon tulip grew up. I preplanted them in good potting soil and the roots had covered the bottom. These half gallon containers were then transplanted and not a single one survived. ☹️

Half Came Up

Submitted 2 years ago

By Sunira

From Atlanta, Ga

Only about half the bulbs came up. The ones that came up were pretty but they did not last very long. I planted them beside the triple A's i get every year for their fantastic color and staying power. They're still leery but don't expect the performance of the AAAs

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

These are my favorite tulips from 3 years of planting spring bulbs. Georgious pastel tulips that performed well in North Texas. Chilled bulbs for 4 months (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan). Planted Feb 12th. Tulips bloomed in 5 weeks!

Q&A

Showing 1 out of 1 Questions

Q
does this tulip naturalize well and come back each year in zone 5-6? is there a list off tulips that do this?
Asked by harvey
Verified Reply - ViciMost modern tulip cultivars bloom well for only 3 or 4 years. However, there are some tulip types (classes) that bloom well over a longer time period. Darwin hybrid tulips are generally the longest blooming hybrid tulip that come back year after year. Fosteriana tulips, also known as Emperor tulips and Species tulips will come back year after year in your zone. Was this answer helpful to you
