Darwin Hybrid Tulip Daydream
Adds cheer and a delightful fragrance to the mid- to late-spring garden and cut-floral displays! Darwin Hybrid Tulip Daydream's flowers start yellow and change to a warm, apricot-orange. Growing 22" tall, these "Giants of the Garden" were developed as a result of crossing the Single Late (Darwin and Cottage) Tulips with the Early Fosteriana Tulips. Truly exceptional, they are among the most weather resistant of all garden tulips with large flowerheads on strong stems. These statuesque beauties have exceptional perennial qualities and will produce many lovely giant flowers year after year with proper care. We recommend fertilization twice a year with our 100% Natural Bulb Food to improve their perennial nature.

These 3 Darwin hybrids- Banja Luka, Triple A and Daydream - were planted last fall and were randomly dispersed in a 10'x30' foot bed.... with a small semicircle of Parrot tulips in the middle front.... spectacular! First time I've been successful with the parrots in 3 years.... wonder what next spring will bring? BTW- I've not been successful in perennializing any of the Darwins... yet!

These are absolutely beautiful tulips and did not disappoint their first spring. I planted them in the grass in front of a row of Annabelle Hydrangeas and they really stand out there. They can start out pure yellow and subtly change to darker orange hues, they're amazing to see the changes every day. I only had 4 out of 50 that didn't come up, but it's possible squirrels got to them. I liked them so much I ordered another 25 to plant this fall with the others and fill in the missing spots.

These are the most interesting and beautiful tulips. They change colors from yellow to vibrant orange hues. I use them to attract Baltimore Orioles every year. I am planning on buying more.

Not sure what drives the color in a tulip but EVERY single one of these were pure yellow. I like yellow flowers so it's not a problem but it definitely was not what I expected.
