Triumph Tulip Flaming Flag

Triumph Tulip Flaming Flag

73%
of respondents would recommend this to a friend
A gorgeous Rembrandt type tulip, Flaming Flag is among the most striking of all the midseason triumph types. This well-formed, snowy white variety is accented by rich purple flames that race up each supple petal. As with all midseason tulips, Flaming Flag bridges the gap between the last of the early tulips and the first of the long-stemmed Darwin Hybrids. It can even be forced indoors during the late-winter season, just in time for Valentine's Day. Makes a superb border or bed planting, especially when accented by other white, yellow or purple blooms. Plant in full sun to part shade for best results.

Out preformed first spring

Submitted 10 months ago

By Herbalm8den

From nspherblady@gmail.com

Every bulb produced one or two big blossoms in an average 6 hrs of sun. I expect they will settle in & multiple well for following seasons. The flame of purple against white is a stand out, everyone wants to know where I found them!

Pretty Tulips

I love these tulips as they are very pretty! But they were short this year…maybe due to weather, etc. Hoping they are taller next year.

Almost no purple

These bloomed well, but the colors were dissappointing: just a hint of purple, not the high contrast shown in sale images. There was more of a lavendar streak than the dark purple shown. In the photo, the Triumph Flaming Flag are on the right, plain white on the left. You can barely tell the fifference except the white ones were larger.

Beautiful border

Submitted 2 years ago

By My plant life

From Warren, MI

I planted these flaming flag tulips with blue wow, white clouds and north caps. I got about a 96% grow rate and 100% bloom rate. Spectacular show of tulips from late March and still going in the Middle of May. 💯 recommend

Great blooming but colors not as vivid as depicted

Submitted 2 years ago

By Melissa

From Oxford MS

The purple was lighter and the contrast was less defined than depicted. I am in zone 7B and we only plant tulips as annuals here so not able to see whether they are more vibrant in succeeding years. However, it looks like nearly all I planted bloomed!

Beautiful and long lasting blooms!

We thoroughly enjoyed the contrasting colors on this beautiful tulip. The blooms lasted a very long time and the stems did not get straggly.

I really enjoyed these tulips. I liked the two-tone, striped look. Love them and can't wait to see them bloom next year.

Q
Are these bulbs pre-chilled? I'm asking because I'd like to know if I can plant immediately for forcing indoors or if I need to put them in the fridge for 6 weeks first. Thank you.
