Growing Tips

  • Planting Instructions:

    Set rhizomes so bottom half is below ground level. In sandy soil they can be planted 1-2" deep. Firm and water thoroughly. Plant where they will get at least 5 hours of sun per day.
  • Soil Moisture:

    Prefers well drained swoil, but is tolerant of a wide range of soils.
  • Will Tolerate:

    Acidic Soil, Clay Soil, Loamy Soil, Sandy Soil
  • Pruning Instructions:

    Prompt removal of spent flower stems will promote the reblooming for later in the season. Cut the foliage back to 6" fans in the late fall. Clean up plant debris to prevent borers from over wintering. After flowering and late fall/early winter
  • Winter Care:

    Mulch in colder climates and remove in early spring before growth starts.
  • Planting Depth:

    Set rhizomes so bottom half is below ground level
  • Watering Requirements:

    Normally not needed. Water when soil is dried out.

These where planted in fall 2019 an in 2 springs the plants are amazing. Though they did not bloom the first year, the plants were strong and healthy.
