Q
Bought lilium lankongense from Bakkar planted April North East UK, failed to break dormancy, I have lifted them, still alive. Have you any tips on growing them please.
Asked by Michael
Verified Reply - KimberlyPlant the Lilium Lankongense bulbs 6" deep and 12-18" apart in well drained soil. They prefer full sun to partial shade.Apply a 5-7.5cm (2-3in) mulch over the soil after planting, and top it up annually. Lilies growing in the ground may not need watering at all, but check during prolonged dry periods in summer. Those in containers will need regular watering whenever needed in spring and summer. Don't remove leaves until they have died down in fall. They help provide nourishment to the bulb for next season's blooms. Was this answer helpful to you
