Give this newcomer a special place in your next garden or landscape design. With its short 4-6" height and amazingly large flowers, Alida Iris bulbs create a carpet of color unmatched by any other dwarf iris. Boasting attractive, medium blue flowers with contrasting accents of white and buttery yellow, it makes a striking addition to rock gardens, containers or front borders. Plant Alida in groups under a stand of deciduous trees for a stunning display in the earliest days of spring… maybe even the latter part of winter. Lovely and colorful early blooms

Submitted 1 year ago

By Jon's Shade Garden

From Pelham, NY

These are so unusual and beautiful. Not all of the bulbs flowered (only two thirds) but I am still happy with this purchase. I will buy again. Great very early bloomers.

Lovely early splash of color!

Submitted 1 year ago

By Flower maximalist

From Zone 6b

I planted all 25 next to my front door for an early splash of color, and 22 of them came up starting in early February, with blooms beginning in early March. The shade of blue is a touch paler/less saturated than shown in the picture, but I still quite like them and will probably put in more next year!

Super cute

The bulbs received were healthy and all bloomed! As some other gardeners noted, these flowers are not blue, the flowers are purple. Pretty anyways! I planted these around yellow tulips and daffodils but they bloomed and faded before the other bulbs were flowering.

Squirrels didn't eat these!

Submitted 4 years ago

By Victoria

From Chicago, IL

I interplanted planted these with yellow crocuses last fall, and while 90% of the crocuses got dug up and eaten by squirrels, most of these were spared. They're lovely, too. Bloomed March 23 in Chicago (z5). I'll be buying more in future years!

Q
Does miniature Iris have to be planted in the fall? Or could they be refrigerated and planted in the spring for a later bloom?
