Hyacinth Purple Star

Hyacinth Purple Star

Nothing says "spring" quite like a generous planting of fragrant hyacinths. This purple hyacinth variety adds a unique color palette to the equation. Purple Star features rich mauve-purple blooms edged in a wonderful metallic blue hue. We love to see hyacinth bulbs planted in groups or clusters along a sunny walkway, at a border's edge or in a decorative container. They make fantastic patio pots, are easy to grow, and deer resistant, too.

Q
I have purple hyacinths in a pot indoors but they are done blooming and just have leaves left. What do I do with the bulbs either inside or outside to have blooms again. I live in Durango, CO.
Asked by Connie
Verified Reply - ViciHyacinths aren't ready to transplant outdoors until after they naturally go dormant. About six weeks after flowering, the leaves begin to yellow and die back naturally. Once they go dormant they can be planted in the ground. Was this answer helpful to you
