Hibiscus Dark Mystery

Hibiscus Dark Mystery

Welcome this landscape performer into your seasonal lineup! Dark Mystery Hibiscus reliably produces rich, wine-purple foliage that nearly steals the show from the plant's 8-9" white blooms with cherry-red eyes and deep pink veining. Instead the dramatically dark leaves serve as a contrasting backdrop that is anything but subtle. Butterflies will be frequent visitors year after year as Dark Mystery matures. With a rounded plant form and its striking coloration, this amazing hibiscus looks good wherever it is placed. But we like it as a border anchor, in large containers or as a focal point planting.

Unique and striking bush!

Submitted 2 years ago

By Nicole

From Tulsa, Ok

I absolutely love this hardy hibiscus! The batter roots arrived in great condition. Don't fret if you don't see any green and it looks a few sticks fused together. That's how mine came and as a new gardener, I was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get out started - I just planted it, watered it initially after planting with some fertilizer, and let our spring rains wake it up and do the rest! The foliage is a dark purple and against the pale pink flowers it's show stopping gorgeous! Once the weather warmed up last spring, it took off and grew shoots and stems fast. I have nothing but praises to sing about with this plant!! These are pictures of the 2 I have at the house, the 3rd I gifted to a friend.
