Bright Cactus Dahlia Veritable

These grew very tall, strong stems with a sparse, weedy foilage. The flowers have all been either purple or white, but not the bicolored variety pictured. The largest flower I got was three inches across. They are pretty enough for cutting but not what I thought I was buying. As the tubers are meant to be dug up every winter for storage in my zone , I don't expect these to mature to anything more attractive in years to come. I'll try them in another location next year to see if I can get better foilage growth. This year I had them behind my glad bed, in full sun and no other plant competition until the glads shot up.

Beautiful flowers but in no way do they look like the picture. They are a lovely pink with no shade of purple at all. Don't know where you took that picture but it isn't the one sent out. Still lovely in pink.

Plant material received was top quality. Plants grew even larger than expected the first season with minimal fertilizing. The blooms are definitely more pink than purple as pictured in the catalog, but were still outstanding. Will definitely be ordering plants from Van Bourgondien again!
