Darwin Hybrid Tulip Apeldoorn's Elite

Darwin Hybrid Tulip Apeldoorn's Elite

Boldly colored, classically-shaped, 5" flowers create a breath-taking display in the garden and the vase. Darwin Hybrid Tulip Apeldoorn's Elite features red and buttercup yellow flowers. Blooming in mid to late spring on sturdy, 22-24" stems, these tulips are excellent for landscaping, mass planting and in beds and borders. Darwin hybrids are among the most weather resistant of all garden tulips. These statuesque beauties have exceptional perennial qualities and will produce many lovely giant flowers year after year with proper care. We recommend fertilization twice a year with our 100% Natural Bulb Food to improve their perennial nature.

These flowers have brilliant color as described. They have a long bloom time and have survived frost! I would recommend these beautiful flowers to anyone who needs a little color added to their landscaping. The price is great for what you get. I would definitely buy them again

Not as described

By James

From Southwest Missouri

The tulips are not as described in the description. They are supposed to 22-24 inches with 5 inch blooms but in reality they are barely 10 inches tall with 2-3 inch blooms. They all came up and the color is close to what the picture is but I'm very disappointed with these and will not be buying this variety again

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Q
With Darwin perennials, do you have to dig them up and replant each fall?
Asked by Terry
Verified Reply - ViciDarwin Tulips should come back year after year in your zone 6. Be sure to allow the leaves to die back naturally as they are feeding the bulb for next year's bloom. Fertilizing your bulbs will also help them come back year after year. Was this answer helpful to you
