Beautiful

From Missouri

I live in central Midwest where we get lots of hot dry weather. I have the phlox planted everywhere but I have found they do best in an area that isn't soggy but holds moist and rather compacted soil. This area also goes into shade about 3:00 and gives them a break from the scorching sun. I have them in beds in full sun but they don't get quite as tall and I water often.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Q
Can you plant creeping phlox and these taller phlox together so when the creeping phlox is dying back these will be coming into bloom?
Asked by Coreen
Verified Reply - ViciGarden phlox makes a good companion for other summer-blooming perennials such as lilies, bee balm, rudbeckia, Shasta daisies, yarrow, clematis and daylilies. In flowerbeds, the taller cultivars of Phlox paniculata provide a good backdrop for shorter plants. I think that the creeping phlox grows in too thick a carpet to plant the tall phlox in the same spot. You could plant the tall phlox close behind it. Be sure to leave room for the creeping phlox to spread. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Some people have left reviews stating that none of the roots grew. What are the required planting instructions to ensure growth? I live in CT (zone 6). Should I wait until Fall to plant the roots if I receive them in the middle of June?
Asked by Denise
Verified Reply - AngelaIt is important to plant the Orange Phlox Perfection roots as soon as possible after they arrive. I would soak the roots in room temperature or slightly warm water for about half an hour prior to planting. Keep the roots covered and protected from sun and wind while you are preparing the planting hole. Dig a hole twice as wide and deep as the roots to loosen the soil. Plant the bareroot so it is just barely below the soil line and water in well. You will want to keep the soil moist, not soggy or wet, for the first couple of weeks. That should get you off to a good start. Was this answer helpful to you
