Leatherwood Fern

Leatherwood Fern

Often used by florists, Leatherwood Fern (Dryopteris marginalis) features beautiful, dark green, semi-evergreen foliage. Growing 24" tall, this shade perennial adds rich color and texture to shade gardens, woodland gardens and rock gardens. While adaptable to a range of soil conditions, it thrives in moist, shady spots. Like other ferns, Leatherwood Fern is a low-maintenance, easy-care plant that is rarely bothered by insect pests or disease. It's one of the easiest shade perennials to grow. Fern plants tend to be deer resistant.
