Spikes of yellow flowers brighten the early summer garden. One of the most colorful tall flowers available, Eremus (Foxtail Lilies) Bungei (Stenophyllus) grows 4-5' tall and blooms in May-June. Native to the drier regions of western and central Asia, foxtail lilies have a compact root, strap-shaped leaves and hundreds of small, individual flowers that attract pollinators. They're showy as a cut flower, too. Deer-resistant perennials, foxtail lilies bloom for 10-15 years without dividing. For the best garden performance, plant Eremus in full sun.

It took two seasons and it was totally worth it!

One of my favorite flowers, no doubt. I planted them in late, late October 2020 - much later than I should've which may have contributed to their sad performance in 2021, but this year... FANTASTIC. Granted, they didn't get as tall as my earlier ones, only about 2 feet. However, it is also worth mentioning I did not water them this year due to ongoing drought.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I received my order and promptly opened the package to find 3 beautiful, well sized rhizome/roots. I am anxious to plant them and see what develops. Hopefully they'll flourish and flower this season although, I expect they'll need to get established and then blossom next season since they are supposed to bloom early.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Q&A

Q
Do these have to be dug up each year in zone 6b? And do they always need an inch of water per week even once they are established?
Asked by Newbie
Verified Reply - AngelaYou don't need to dig up Eremurus. Plant them once and enjoy for many years. The plants have average water needs and this is most important when they are budding and blooming. Otherwise, your natural rainfall will probably sustain the plants. Just watch for periods of drought and supplement as needed. Was this answer helpful to you
