Velvety, deep reddish-black blooms add drama and beauty to winter days. Amaryllis Black Pearl features showy flowers that are 8" across. Our jumbo-sized bulbs will produce three huge stems, each with 4-5 flowers. Growing 16-18" tall, this stunning amaryllis makes a wonderful holiday gift—or will add plenty of flair to indoor settings. Amaryllis bulbs are a favorite for forcing indoors. Most amaryllis bulbs will bloom about 6-8 weeks after planting. For Christmas blooms, plant the amaryllis bulbs around the end of October to early November; for Thanksgiving blooms, plant the bulbs around the beginning of October. Each order includes instructions and directions for plant care to ensure repeat blooming in successive years.

I decide to plant them in pots when they arrived last fall before winter. I wanted to make sure they were going to grow I wanted a few weeks before I did since they were starting to grow without being in pots. I am amazed how beautiful these flowers are. I can't wait to get them in m garden this spring. All three have just thrived since they were planted in pots. I admire the beauty in these flowers they will be perfect where I will be planting them.

Q
When my Amarillas is done blossoming in the house do I cut the whole plant down and then let it go dormant or just let it all die down?
Asked by Peggy
Verified Reply - ViciCut the old flowers from the stem when they fade. When the stem starts to sag, cut it back to the top of the bulb. Continue to water and fertilize all summer or at least 5-6 months. 4.Allow the leaves to fully develop and grow. The leaves nourish the bulb so it will produce large flowers next year. When the leaves begin to yellow, usually in the early fall, cut the leaves to about 2” from the top of the bulb. At this time, remove the bulb from the soil. Clean the bulb and place it in a cool dark place (40-50 degrees) for a minimum of six weeks. The refrigerator will work only if it does not contain apples. Apples will sterilize the bulbs. After six weeks you can remove the bulbs and plant them again. Plant the bulbs about eight weeks before you want them to bloom. Was this answer helpful to you
