Considered one of the most flamboyant and decorative blooms in the spring garden, Parrot Tulips make a truly stunning addition to any outdoor site. Spectacular even for these amazing tulips is our newest addition to the K. van Bourgondien lineup, Rasta Parrot! It features gorgeous, frilled blooms in a flamboyant color palette and a moderate height that makes them perfect for indoor floral arrangements as well as sensational front border displays. The rich brownish-red petals are accented with splashes of vivid yellow and fresh green, which matches the flower's attractive foliage. Rasta Parrot is an ideal choice for feature beds, mass plantings or as a focal point in a mixed cutting garden. Plant as a single-variety presentation or alongside a grouping of traditional tulips, calling attention to both species.

Most didn't bloom, and those that did were not like the photo. Being in Central NC, I was told tulips don't grow well here because of the lack of cold weather in the winter.

Questions & Answers

Q&A

Showing 7 out of 7 Questions

Q
Are there any tulips that can be planted and do well in zone 9? I'm having issues finding any in your catalog
Asked by Carolyn
Verified Reply - AngelaTulips require a period of exposure to cold winter temperatures in order to flower. We don't generally suggest tulips for your growing zone because it's too warm. Some gardeners in your area may chill their tulip bulbs for about 12 weeks prior to planting. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
hello, I bought some tulips I live in zone 7a I have not been able to plant them. Can I still plant them or do I need to wait until early spring.? If I need to wait how would I store the bulbs?
Asked by Annella
Verified Reply - AngelaPlease get your tulip bulbs in the ground now. You can plant them as long as the ground is not frozen. Hopefully, they have been stored in a cool, dark and dry location. They won't hold until spring. Was this answer helpful to you
