Incredibly unique and quite the eye catcher, this unusual tulip is a recent introduction, but will certainly become a favorite of discerning gardeners and landscape pros. Go Go Red Tulip will grab your attention with its very narrow, deep red petals accented with warm yellow centers. The overall effect delivers maximum impact to late-spring garden. The uncommonly pretty flower form and bold, bright colors are sure to get noticed in the border or as an accent bloom in fresh-cut bouquets.

Striking addition to my daffodils

Submitted 1 year ago

From Smyrna, GA

Unfortunately, I was not able to plant these for over two months after they arrived. By that point, fungus had infected most of the bulbs (which was entirely my fault). I planted the good bulbs: 8 survived and 6 bloomed. I was impressed that, for once, the flowers were even more vibrant that the catalog photos. The red is brilliant, and the gold center matches my daffodils. These flowers are quite striking with their star-like appearance, which can exceed 6 inches across. I intend to plant more of these unique tulips.

Unfortunately, this spring was marked by multiple hail storms and heavy downpours...just as the tulips were putting on their show. Hoping for better weather next year.

I grew a few of these for the first time & they are truly special. I planted them all in a pot here in Asheville, NC and they even survived the zero temps we had for a few days.

Q&A

Showing 2 out of 2 Questions

Q
Since it is a tulip, does the care the same as in refrigerator chill, then fall plant. I am in zone 8a and tulips are only one season. Does this act like a daffodi when does come back every year for us.
Asked by Margie
Verified Reply - AngelaGo Go Red is a tulip and will likely be an annual in your growing zone. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Will the "Go Go Red" tulips naturalize, or do they need to be replanted each Fall?
Asked by Tabitha
Verified Reply - AngelaThe Lily-flowering Tulip Go Go Red is technically perennial but may be finicky. Many gardeners grow them as annuals and plant new bulbs each year. This ensures they get spring blooms. Fertilize after flowering and allow the foliage to die back naturally if you want to encourage them to return. Planting in a spot where they will stay dryer during winter dormancy will also help. Was this answer helpful to you
