Beautiful addition to my front garden

I have purchased hundreds of bulbs from K. Bourgondien - even in the past year - but this year these tulips are a HUGE disappointment. Not only did the tulips bloom without any stems albeit listed as being 22" tall, they are the WRONG color - bright red instead of burgundy. They are shorter than the muscari! The shape of the flower is correct, but it makes me wonder if I even received the right tulips or if a different variety was somehow mislabeled. I ordered 6 bags of these for mass planting, and they look ridiculous! I can't recommend them.

These made a huge statement in a large container. Many neighbors walking by mentioned how beautiful they were. I would definitely recommend these bubs.

I thought this tulip was breathtakingly beautiful. Not only is the deep color so eye-catching, the very glossy petals almost look unreal. The only downside is that it did not return for me the next year, but since I do not know if that had to do with my garden's conditions that year I did not downgrade it a star. Next time I will try lifting the bulbs, which I usually do not have to do.

I confess that my only regret is that I did not order more of these stunning tulips. Lesson learned. I will not make that mistake again. This is a tulip well worth having. The Burgundy color is deep and sonorous. It will become a fast favorite. I highly recommend it.
