Dutch Iris Red Ember

Dutch Iris Red Ember

Add sizzle in late spring with this boldly colored and flamboyant iris. Its smoky purple-red blooms are lightly kissed with copper and have contrasting yellow blotches. Tall, straight stems make it perfect for bouquets. To create drifts of rich, red shades, plant in groups among perennials and annuals.

I got these last year and I hope they bloom this year. Still pretty small. Gave rating based on the fact the plants are alive but have yet to bloom.

I plant hundreds of Dutch iris each year, some bloom, some repeat from year to year. I didn not see a Red Ember bloom, was saddened as I use the blooms for altar flowers for the church.

Q
Will they do well in a large pot
Asked by Ann
Verified Reply - AngelaDutch Irises can be grown in a pot. In colder regions, we suggest placing the potted bulbs in an unheated garage or basement for the coldest part of winter. Potted bulbs don't have the same insulation as those planted in the ground. Was this answer helpful to you
