Calla Lily Frozen Queen

Calla Lily Frozen Queen

A fantastic calla lily variety with translucent, silver-white leaves and gorgeous trumpet flowers, Frozen Queen is a calla lily for the ages. Both versatile and eye catching, it features elegantly twisted foliage outlined in clear green. Upright wine-purple blooms are large—3" tall and 2" wide—and bring color and flair to midsummer gardens. This is a magnificent perennial that never fails to garner attention from visitors and passersby. Its versatility benefits plant lovers and gardeners alike. In zones 8-10, bulbs can be left in the ground year round. But in zones 3-7, they should be lifted and stored in a cool, dark place for the season. It can also be grown indoors and kept as a houseplant. Perfect for containers that can be moved outdoors and in, as the weather dictates. In areas with hot and humid summers, we suggest planting where it can get some afternoon shade. Indoors, it should be placed near a window, but not in direct midday sun.

Hello, Can my Calla Lily Bulbs stay in the ground in Zone 8? Last year I lost all of my Amaryllis bulbs that were in pots. They rotted and I don't know why. Is there less chance of my Calla Lily Bulbs rotting if they are in the ground? Thank you
Asked by Carla
Verified Reply - AngelaYour Calla Lily Frozen Queen can stay in the ground all winter in zone 8. I would suggest applying a thick layer of straw over the planting site when the ground approaches freezing. Was this answer helpful to you

Q
This bulb was lifted and given to me on 11-05-23. I desire to plant it in a container and keep as a houseplant Can I replant it in a container now or must I store it as directed over the winter and wait to plant in the container in the spring? Thank you.
Asked by Ginger Ball
Verified Reply - AngelaYou will want to store your Frozen Queen bulb for two to three months at 40 to 50 F, then it will be time to restart the growth cycle. Use any regular potting soil, keeping it humid but making sure no standing water gathers inside the pot. Place in an east or west facing window away from drafts or heating vents. Enjoy! Was this answer helpful to you
