Giant Crocus Flower Record (C. vernus)

Giant Crocus Flower Record (C. vernus)

100%
of respondents would recommend this to a friend
Petite, velvety purple flowers add plenty of drama and charm to containers, borders and edging. Growing 3-6" tall, the cup-shaped flowers open in early spring, before most other spring-blooming bulbs. Giant Crocus Flower Record (C. vernus) looks best when planted in groups of a dozen or more. They are also striking when mixed with yellow, white and light blue crocus. For an impressive look, plant giant crocus in groups of hundreds and thousands for naturalizing in the grass, woodlands, slopes and under trees. Crocus bulbs multiply rapidly, so you'll enjoy more blooms every year.

Deep color is nice, not as tall as they look. Border rather than naturalized

Pretty flower. They came up after my daffodils (250 pack) so I was a little nervous at first but they did great.

I planted these in Fall 2018. They were beautiful, large bulbs, but as they came up the following spring (2019), the deer ate the tops off most of them. I had a fence installed late last year, and now (spring 2020) I had the beautiful display! And early--mid- to late February. I recommend von Bourgondien to everyone!

The only mistake I made was not believing the instructions and spacing them further apart than other crocus. They were SSOO BIG! And so, so, crowded. 2 or 3x taller than other crocus. Brilliant color. Beautiful form.

I also bought "Yalta" but never actually saw one, but the squirrels gave them two paws up. The giant variety seems to be less tasty and presented well and were beautiful. Flowers were large and uniformly true to variety. Would buy again.

The blooms are huge and so vibrant. They are next to some Crocus I bought on a trip to the Netherlands in 1981. All of the Crocus I bought and planted in the fall are outstanding. My favorites are the white, the deep purple, and the yellow.

Q
When should I order bulbs for planting in october
Asked by Larry
Verified Reply - AngelaWe are already accepting pre-orders for fall shipping on some plants. You can order now if we have opened up ordering. Otherwise, you can wait until late summer when we should have all of our fall stock available to order. The earlier the better as some items go out of stock very quickly.
